Odd day...

Interesting...

Good...

But odd...

We had our home inspection for the adoption today. Part of that was we needed to have our furnace inspected (and pass, of course). They also came today. Here is how the afternoon played out:
3:00 Isaac Heating and Air came, the nice guy Roy begins to clean and inspect the furnace.
3:30 Roy comes up and breaks the news to us...all five of our heat exchangers are cracked. He takes us down and shows us the cracks with his little mirror, yup, cracks.
at 3:40 Roy tells us we need a new furnace. *sigh*
He calls headquarters and they will have a salesman over in a little while (he will call before he gets here)
3:50 Roy goes back to work testing for Carbon monoxide. The tests were good, none going outside and only 35 parts-per-million going inside which is NOTHING really...
so...
4:00 Roy still here, and our Temporary Social Workers Intern arrives to do our home inspection.
THAT went very smoothly...we were her second ever inspection and we had the checklist they use, so we knew what was going on and were prepared...easy.
Just a few things we need to do:
get plug covers
get cabinet locks for chemical areas
get smoke detector for attic
get a lock for the attic door (the attic door is in the nursery)
get a new furnace =)
SO...
4:40 the salesman calls and he will be here in 5 min...we are still chatting with the social worker
4:45 the social worker is getting up to leave and the salesman is knocking on the door. Roy is still in the basement.
4:50 Roy leaves
4:55 Salesman leaves after we purchased a new furnace from them and scheduled it to be delivered tomorrow afternoon and installed Thursday.
5:00 we stand in the kitchen and say "That was odd."

yes...yes it was...

Just Me,
Fran =)

Not so bad. A few little locks and things....a furnace...just stuff. And all in the space of 2 hours.
