*happy sigh*

Well, I gave my notice at CJ Banks. Tonight was my last night working there.
Many reasons why...mainly, I did not feel like I could give my all there as tired as I was when I worked both jobs. Also, I was not there for the money, I was there for devotion to the store and coworkers, and as good as that is, It just could not get me through a 14 hour work day.

Also, I never had time to go see my good friend Tara and he awsome horses (ok, mainly Skatt!) And that is something I really REALLY miss in my life since I am not working with them, horses. And I really crave the smell and the feel and the body language of them. And I do miss talking and hanging out with Tara!

So, anyway...

The Rochester Lilac Festival was this week. It was kind of a yucky week for it (it rained a lot, but it usually does for Lilac Fest). But John and I went on Friday and it was not raining. We wandered though the lilacs and got intoxicated by their fragrence! Very awesome! Then we went to the Lamberton Conservatory. That was also very awesome...
I declaired to John that day that:
"I want to be a horticuluraist when I grow up!"
His response:
"What do you mean by that?"
Nice...=)

Anyway...
Beautiful day...Great to be alive!

Just me,
Fran =)

ok...I know...

Here I am.

Working to much recently. Less now, though.

Anyway...
Many things to cover...

1- Letter from Adoption social worker
2- Working at Grossmans
3- What I read in April and What my May plans are
4- Recent vacation
5- My camera
6- My garden

1-
So the other night I emailed the social worker who we have been dealing with so far, to see when the next homestudy class is going to begin. She responded today and said that they like to only have 15 hopeful adoptive parents waiting at a time. They have 15 now, so they are waiting for that waiting list sto go down before they have another group of hopefuls come though the system.
So, I guess this is the start of our waiting. *sigh*

2-
I am having a great time at my new job! After I made the decision to stay working at Grossmans, I got 5 more calls for interviews (a barn, 2 vet clinics and 2 home improvement stores). I declined each one. I have learned so much there and I enjoy it! The time flies working there, and I really enjoy the plants, and the people (both coworkers and customers). If you are in Rochester, check out Grossmans! Check this out, were arre the cover article in the Today's Garden Center magazine, and we are lited in the top 50 garden centers in the US. Very cool!

3-
My april readings were "V for Vendetta" and "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory". I really enjoyed "V" and now I really want to see the movie. Charlie was just like the movies (more the second, I think) and it was a fun quick read.
My May reading, which I think will take the whole month is "Jane Eyre". I am enjoying it very much so far. And that kind of shocks me a little. I am not usually into victorian lit. But, the only cohearent time I have to read it is during my break at work, so it is going slowly. =)

4-
A few weeks ago John and I took a little trip away from Rochester. It was our 6 year annivarsary and John had to present a paper at a confrence so off we went. We had a great time. We decided to take the dog with us, and he was so good! I got to visit a couple close friends while John was at the confrence. A good time was had by all!

5-
My camera got fixed!
I took it to a local audio/video place and they looked at it, put new batteries in it and it still did not work (the mirror was stuck in place). Then they told me it would cose me $200 to send it back to Pentax to fix it, and even then, the company might be folding soon....But would you like to buy a $500 digital camera from us? So I said no, and left and went for a second opinion. At the second place the guy told me the other people are idiots. The guy at the second place put in NEW (out of the box) batteries and it worked! I thanked him profusley and promised to oly ever go to him ever again.
Well...I need to go back to him.
6 pictures into a new roll of film, I press the button to take a picture and nothing happens.
*cries*
And the lilacs are opening!

6-
The ONLY problem woth working at a garden center...
MY GARDEN NEEDS *THIS* RIGHT NOW!!
This being absoutly everything we grow! I love it. So I planted some basic wildflower seed mixes with some sunflowers behind that on one side of the back yard. On the other side I already have the 5 rose buses and 1 peaony bush. So in the one long streach i have between roses, I put sunflowers again. I did it last year, too, and it was so awsome, and the local birds loved me (we always had a woodpecker on the mammoth sunflowers eating). Then down at the back of the yard I planted the brussel sprout seedlings I started, then i planted asparagus, carrots, squash, broccoli and pumpkin all seeds. I love gardening. Now I just have to get the from yard going where I pulled out the yucky barberry bushes!

So, anyway, there's an update from me, to y'all!
I promise I will write more often!

Or try to anyway!

Just me,
Fran =)
