Hello, and welcome to the 21st century.

Man...I got a blog last week and now yesterday I took a huge step (leap, plunge, fall?) into the 21st century.
I got a cell phone.
We were planning on getting on when the adoption come closer to 'edge-of-your-seat' time. But I thought that since I will be in Florida for 2+ weeks that it would most likely be a good thing to have a quick and free-ish connection to John and home.
Verizon. Everyone I know is on it. They have colverage everywhere I will be going. They have no roaming charges. Works for me.

Speaking of going to Florida...
I was really stupid the other day. When I decided that "Yes, I will be going" I wanted to go get some shorts thinking they would be on a big sale. Nope, no shorts left. I was a little peeved about this.
The next day, you know what I realized...
I'll be in a 10 month a year hot climate area. I just BET they sell shorts there.
Why do I have this conception in my head that nowhere else in the world has stores and I have to bring down everything I own or else I am in big trouble.
Nope, cannot buy that there, need to bring 2 tubes of toothpaste, no store there.
*sigh*

Once again,
Welcome to the 21st century.

Just me,
Fran =)

2 things, actully...

1- Man I love hurricanes.
Wilma is SO impressive. In the span of 10 hours it went from a megar Catagory 1 storm to a massive catagory 5 storm. That is so awsome. An just look at the cloud top pictures of Her. She is georgous! The spiral is just so awsome (in the origional sence of the word!)!
Man, hurricanes rock!

Don't get me wrong, I am sad for those who lose their lives and homes (even if they WERE *STUPID* enough to build 2-5 feet BELOW sea level). But they are very impressive forces of nature.

2- I have been asked by the barn I work at to travel with them to Wellington Forida for two weeks.
Woah. That would be awsome.
My first real thought...How close is Wellington to Orlando? (Answer about 3 hours ~196 miles)
I would be leaving 12 November and coming back 2 weeks later, AFTER Thanksgiving. Miss Thanksgiving with John. Hrm.
Well, After have a couple talks with John he is OK with me leaving. He will miss me but I will make a *TON* of money and he can tell that I really would like to go.
I think I really would like to go.
It is *SO* far away. We will be driving down.
Non-stop.
With a trailer full of 8 horses.
Ugh.
Well, I did mention to John that if I do go, I want to get a cell phone (!!) so I can call home when I miss him and have it be cheaper and much easier than calling cards.
Thats a plus. =)

AND I don't really like the heat.
How hot is it in southern Florida in November?

Well, I guess I have to go buy some shorts and tee-shirts before all the sales are over.

Just me,
Fran =)

*sigh* I Hate junk mail...

Well I have many many email accounts. One is for my ebay purchases. One is for people to send junk mail to me. One is for my ISP account. One is for my 4-H club and one if for REAL mail from real people.
SO...to make a long story, well, longer....
I went on my monthly check of my junk mail account. My sister-in-law and one of my old college rooomates (and she was a bridesmaid of mine) and my mother-in-law send me tons of mostly stupid stuff. "Pass on to 10 people and you will have good luck for 10 days, pass on to 100 people and you will have a year of good luck pass on to 1000 people and your pretty-close-to-God status."
ANYway...one of the emails I got from my old college roommate is as follows:

***
"How ironic is this??!! They don't even believe in Christ and they're getting their own Christmas stamp, but don't dream of posting the Ten Commandments on federal property.
USPS New Stamp
*picture of new stamp commertaing a Musalm holiday*

This one is impossible to believe. Scroll down for text.

Of there is only one thing you forward today...let it be this!

Remember the *MUSLIM* bombing of PanAm Flight 103!
Remember the *MUSLIM* bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!
Remember the *MUSLIM* bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon!
Remember the *MUSLIM* bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia!
Remember the *MUSLIM* bombing of the American Embassies in Africa!
Remember the *MUSLIM* bombing of the USS Cole!
Remember the *MUSLIM* attack on 9/11/01!
Rmemeber all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks!

Not the United States Postal Service remembers and honor the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class holiday postage stamp.

Remember to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when puchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.

REMEMBER to pass this along to every patriotic AMERICAN you know."

****

Now, reading that, Does that make you think that Muslims are good people?

I was very very offended by this email and just as suprised that my friend even thought that way.

Along that line of thought, all Christians are responsible for the holocust because the Nazis were Christian. All Americans are responsible for the horriable things done in Vietman because some americans did them. All women are mother because we have a friend who is a mother.

Well I emailed my friend and told her my thoughts her reply was that the junk mail nowhere said that ALL Muslims did those acts.

No, but the nice big bolds REALLY stressed it.

She also said she was offended that I was offended and she has such a hard life and she does not like me anymore because I don't email her or IM her. I sent a reply back say yes, we both live busy lives but you have email and IM too.

So, anyway...Longer story even longer...she send me one more email saying she does not want to be in contact with me anymore.

At least I have all of you out there in blog land now...

Right?

Just me,
Fran =)

Well, it's worth a try...

I got an email today from my best friend in middle of nowhere Vermont (sorry 'Ed', no offense). In this email she said she finally has a blog.
Wait, I don't.=(
Me who has been online since 1984.
Me who failed many classes in college because online was MUCH more fun.
Me who traveled all the way to Washington state to meet ONE of my
online boyfriends. (Don't ask, please!)
Me who had the first real webpage of anyone in school.
*I* don't have a blog.

*sigh*

My turn I guess.

Now will I keep up with this new fangled thing? It is bright and shiny now, but in a few months (weeks?) will it still be so fun to do.
Hey, will I even remember I have a blog, or even what my login name is.

With the impending adoption of our first child I have been thinking a lot about writing my thoughts down. Even writing my days down. Perhaps this is the way I will do it.

And once again,
Excuse the spelling.
